TERMS AND CONDITIONS

  1. You are required to be in possession of a current valid provisional driving licence. Please inform your instructor of any official changes to that document.
  2. An eye test will be carried out on your first lesson to ensure you meet the minimum DSA requirement. Please bring with you any glasses or contact lenses you need to meet this requirement. Should you fail the minimum requirements of the eye test the lesson will be cancelled. If you have any doubts about your ability to meet the DSA requirements you should make an appointment with an optician prior to commencing lessons.
  3. You may/will be required to pay in full for any lesson or test appointments that you cancel with less than 48 hours notice. This must be done by calling the instructor directly.
  4. Any block lessons paid for but not taken may be refunded less an administration charge. They must be taken within twelve months of your first lesson. All block lessons must be paid for in full, cheques made payable to instructor.
  5. If requested to please bring your driver record and or appointment card with you on every lesson.
  6. Your appointment card is your receipt for block lessons; you must sign for each lesson as it is taken.
  7. We reserve the right to refuse the use of the instructors car for practical tests if the instructor feels that you have not reached a satisfactory standard.
  8. The minimum cost of the car for a practical test is two hours fee, this includes pick up from home, 1 hour lesson before, time on test, debrief and the drive home. This does not include the DSA practical test fee.
  9. It is not the responsibility of the school/instructor to remind or tell you when your theory/practical tests are, or to check that all your documents are in order for these tests.
  10. You (not the examiner) are responsible for the instructors/schools vehicle while you are taking your practical driving test. In the unlikely event of a road traffic accident you could be liable for any insurance excess (up to £250).
  11. Credit will not be accepted under any circumstances.
  12. There is a £30 charge for any returned unpaid cheques.
  13. We reserve the right to change your instructor or car at any time.
  14. Whilst every care is taken to ensure that pupils receive tuition at the scheduled time and in the car booked, all appointments are made on the understanding that the school accepts no responsibility for the postponement of lessons and practical tests due to mechanical breakdowns/instructor illness or any delays in traffic or weather conditions. If the pupil cannot be accommodated in another car, a fresh appointment will be made as early as possible. Neither are we responsible for driving test appointments postponed by the DSA.
  15. If you change your pick up or your drop off point without prior notice (48 hours) it may not be possible to give you a full hour's lesson (full hour to be charged).
  16. If you are late for a lesson, the lesson will still finish at the arranged time. Missed time cannot be reallocated, nor can the lesson price be reduced.
  17. You must ensure that you are not under the influence of alcohol or drugs while attending a lesson, "remember the night before". Please check labelling on all prescription/non-prescription drugs with regards to driving.
  18. Any items left in the car are not the responsibility of BettaDrive although all efforts will be made to return items.
  19. On the occasional lesson there may be another BettaDrive instructor or DSA official observing your instructor. This is done for quality and assessment purposes.
